Today, I had my fourth chemotherapy dose which was the second of my “double dose”. So far, I actually feel pretty good tonight. My hemoglobin was now up to 11.1 which is still low, but my insurance approved iron shots and I got one today. My nurse practitioner said this should help me improve building my blood. Getting blood really helped me a great deal. I feel like a vampire now. Hah!
My daughter and I were watching the Olympics tonight and I was laughing and she said it was good to see me happy. The nurse practitioner also said I was smiling today. I had a tumor marker draw today, but those results will be run tomorrow so they told me I would find out more on how I am doing next week when I see the doctor. He had to go to another office today, so I did not see him.
I have been drinking a lot of fluids today. My Odwalla super green food, apple juice, water and etc. I am staying on my same regime of vitamins and mineral and I even swam for just a bit tonight. Was pretty tired though. I am planning on getting through this round easier than last time. Besides, “My cancer is leaving my body, my cancer is leaving my body, my cancer is leaving my body”.
Ciao for now,
It has been so nice having a couple of good days. I have chemotherapy tomorrow and it will be my double dose of medication which is rough. I am tough and will get through it. I admit that I am not looking forward to my session tomorrow. My hair seems to be falling out more when I brush it the last 2 days. This next treatment might be the one that makes it really fall out. We will see. It is kind of freaky thinking about my hair being gone. Well as my daughter says I can join the many celebrities that wear wigs all the time.
My daughter has an old wig from my mother that she is going to wash and style until we can afford to get one. I think I am going to get some of the cool material hats as the idea of a wig sounds hot. It is still very hot in our house again tonight.
I am addicted to the Olympics so I am going to go enjoy the rest of the night watching them.
My computer and I are not getting along and I apologize, but can’t get a picture up today.
I was actually hungry and able to eat today. I will be having my second dose of my double chemotherapy medication on thursday. I was told that just when I felt good the “double whammy” would come next. That’s all goo though as I am so grateful to feel more “normal” today. I decided to tell my daughter we should get some dinner out and take a ride. So, that is exactly what we did tonight. In fact, I felt so good we swam first and then watched Michael Phelps get his 19th metal and then we went out to eat. We ate at a local pizza restaurant which was fun and I was craving their specialty salad and wrapped pizza dogs. I was able to eat and so far no nausea. So exciting for a change.
I even spent the day by myself and managed well. I kept the house closed until this evening so it would not be so hot. Watching all the swimming events with the Olympics is so thrilling to me. It has encouraged me to get up and moving. Speaking of moving, I am going to have a physical therapist next week to help me with my arthritis.
I am very optimistic with my cancer. My daughter told me the doctor she works for told her that many times my type of cancer is quick to respond to chemotherapy. “I plan on getting rid of my cancer…I am going to get rid of my cancer, I am going to get rid of my cancer”.
My daughter got my turmeric today. I realized I had spelled it incorrectly-sorry about that. It really helps with inflammation. Remember to get the one that is 95% potency. My headache also left today and that was a great relief. I still take iron everyday and am supposed to start extra shots to boost my iron levels this week. I know I will have more energy if I can get my hemoglobin in the normal range. If you feel weak, short of breath, fatigued and are pale, these are signs of anemia.
I got a lovely bouquet of yellow and white lilies, some smaller looking lilies that are orange, baby’s breath with green filler from a young lady who is like a daughter to me…just beautiful and uplifting!
On that note, Have a Blessed Day and enjoy all life can offer,
I finally had a craving to eat Chinese food tonight. I was so very hot all day that I barely ate. Tonight though I had a veggie egg roll, rice, chowmein and sweet and sour chicken and some veggies. I ate a full serving which was unusual. Seems like getting blood has helped. I had a nurse visit and my vital signs were good today. My blood pressure was up in the hospital and it was better today.
I got in our dough boy pool for a bit and that helped to cool me off. It is still 100 degrees in my house at 10pm at night. It is just not comfortable and it makes me feel weak. Going to get a cold compress and rest. I am still enjoying the Olympics.
It’s amazing how much anemia and chemotherapy can make you so weak. I thought I would have more energy than I did today after getting blood, but still weak. I did get in the pool this evening though. I slept most of the day. My daughter has made me eat, even though I have not been very hungry. I had toast this morning as I was a bit nauseated. I had chicken noodle soup this afternoon. Finally at dinner I ate spinach, a few bites of meat and a few bites of mashed potato. I also had a half of quesedilla with mango salsa and avacodo. I had a pudding for dessert. I have been drinking my Odwalla supergreen drink and carrot juice and a lot of water. Still feeling dehydrated from the lasix.
My day was not very exciting. I watched the Olympics again. I am keeping myself positive and “I am going to get rid of my cancer, I am going to get rid of my cancer, I am going to get rid of my cancer”.
I have rested most of the day today as I have been worn out since my hospital stay. I have had so many bowel movements today, I can’t believe it. It is better than being constipated. I just want my blood levels to improve and get more energy and get rid of my cancer. “I am going to get rid of my cancer, I am going to get rid of my cancer, I am going to get rid of my cancer”.
I was able to eat well today and did not drink as much super green that I usually do, but I have been drinking a lot of water. I also had Lasix yesterday after each pint of blood and I think that might be why I am still worn out.
I have been watching the Olympics today. They are amazing to watch. It must be an event of a lifetime to watch them in person.
I am keeping it short tonight. My best to everyone.
